11th Jeetpur Simara gold cup football tournament got underway at Simara stadium on Tuesday.

Hosts NJJYC, Simara defeated Bagmati rural municipality SDC 4-2 in an exciting match.

Bagmati rural municipality was close to victory but hosts scored two goals late to ensure a hard fought victory.

Luis Vidal and Dona Thapa scored brace each for the winners.

Dona Thapa became the player of the match and received NRs 5,000 cash.

Tribhuwan Army FC will play against Birgunj United on Wednesday.

NJJYC, Simara is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Nrs 7 lakh.
