3rd Sainamaina Mayor gold cup football tournament got underway at Sainamaina, Rupandehi on Saturday.

Kapilvastu DFA defeated hosts Janapriya Sporting club 8-0 to enter quarterfinals. They will meet Pharsatikar youth club on Magh 29, 2077.

Sanju Sen scored four goals alone while Gobin struck a twice for the winners. Sandip and Arjun contributed a goal each for the winners. 

Four goal hero Sanju Sen became the player of the match and received Nrs 2000 cash.

Club president Kishor Rana told GoalNepal that Buddha Bhumi football academy will play against Four Brothers, Nawalparasi on Sunday.

The championship has a winning purse of Nrs 2,22,222 while runners up team will get NRs 1,11,111.
