Defending champions Birtamod United has entered quarterfinals of Panchthar gold cup football tournament.

Birtamod defeated Red Horse Ilam 5-4 on penalties to enter last four on Sunday. Both teams played 1-1 draw at Phidim school ground.

Dikesh Limbu scored for Birtamod while Birendra Limbu scored for Ilam.

Yogesh Gurung became the man of the match and received Nrs 5,000 cash.

Hosts Panchthar FC will play against DFC Morang on Monday.

The championship has a winning purse of Nrs 4 lakh.
