Sankata club has entered quarterfinals of Ruslan 10th Simara gold cup football tournament.

Sankata defeated Saraswoti youth club 3-1 on penalties to enter last eight at Simara stadium, Bara on Saturday.

Both teams played 1-1 draw in regulation time. Mohan Gurung scored for SYC in 38th minute while Jay Gurung scored for Sankata in 58th minute.

Sankata goalie Raja Babu Thapa Magar became the man of the match and received Nrs 10,000 cash.

Sankata will play against Ruslan TSC in quarterfinal match on Magh 8.

Nepal APF will play against Nepal Army on Sunday.

Nawa Jana Jagriti yuwa club is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Nrs 6 lakh.
