News Rolling Club, Dhulabari Enters SFs Of Late Limbuni Thuli Memorial Cup

Rolling Club of Dhulabari has entered the semi-finals of the Late Limbuni Thuli Memorial Cup 2081 held today at Khudunabari in Arjundhara 3, Jhapa.

Rolling Club won the match today at the local Kaidale Sports field by a 5-3 goal difference through a tiebreaker and made it to the last four of Limbuni thuli memorial cup at Khudunabari, Jhapa.

After playing a goalless draw with the APF team of Pakali Sunsari in the stipulated time, the match was decided by a tiebreaker.

In the tiebreaker, APF's Yagya Bikram Malla's shot was stopped by Rolling's goalkeeper Yubaraj Puri. Only the shots of Balram Niraula, Dhan Bahadur Shrestha and Sanjar Sardar were converted into goals for APF.

The shots of Saroj Karki, Vishal Darji, Rujan Neupane, Arun Meche and Aditya Dhungel were converted into goals for Rolling. Goalkeeper Yuvraj Puri, who saved a shot, was awarded the Player of the Match and received Rs 3,500 in cash.

The Charity Youth Club organized the tournament in memory of Limbuni Thuli, who lived in a Bhutanese refugee camp years ago. Aitmaya Subba, also known as Limbuni Thuli, passed away last year after going to the US for rehabilitation. Her son Babi Subba and his family sponsored the memorial cup.

Babi Subba is currently living in the US for rehabilitation. He says that he has contributed a little to the development of Nepali football by keeping his late mother alive among the residents of Arjundhara Khudunabari. Babi himself is also a football player and coach. Jalthal FC Jhapa will play the first semi-final match against Red Horse FC of Ilam on Thursday.

The winner of the tournament will receive Rs 155,555 in cash and the runner-up will receive Rs 77,777, said Surya Imbung, coordinator of the organizing committee. The organizers estimate that it will cost Rs. 1.4 million to complete the competition.
