The visiting team United Kurseong Football Club, India has entered the semi-finals of the ongoing 25th Buddha Subba Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament.

United Kurseong defeated the home team Dharan Football Club, Sunsari, in a penalty shootout on Sunday to enter the last four. Before that, both the teams played a 1-1 draw in the regular time match.

United Kurseong took the lead in the match in the 18th minute through a goal by Hemraj Bhujel at the Dharan Stadium. However, Binod Rai pulled a goal back for Dharan in the 44th minute of the match.

In the penalty shootout, United Kurseong defeated Dharan 7-6 to book their place in the last four. Hemraj Bhujel of United Kharsang was named the Man of the Match in the match. He received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a trophy.

The third quarterfinal match of the tournament will be held on Monday, Magh 21, between Raja Club, Sunsari and RTC Football Club, Bhutan, the organizers informed.

The winner of the tournament, organized by Dharan Football Club, Sunsari, will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 million along with the title, while the runner-up will receive a trophy of Rs 5 million, the organizers informed.
