Footballer's Mission Together is set to host the Second Veterans Football Tournament-2081, featuring players aged over 40, including notable retired international stars. This exciting event, technically supported by the All Nepal Football Association, will take place at Madhyapur Football Stadium, starting on 3rd Kartik 2081 in a knockout format.
A total of 21 teams will compete, with the champions receiving 8 lakhs and the runners-up taking home 5 lakhs. In addition, various individual prizes will be awarded, highlighting the competitive spirit of the tournament.
The estimated budget for the tournament is 31 lakhs, with Nagarjuna Municipality stepping up as the main sponsor, contributing 1.5 million. To help cover the total costs, additional sponsorships are sought, as the registration fees alone will not suffice. Teams from the Kathmandu valley will pay a registration fee of 20,000, while teams from outside the valley will be charged 5,000.
To ensure a smooth execution of the competition, several sub-committees have been formed. This tournament aims to not only promote camaraderie among participants but also to inspire younger generations to engage in the sport of football.
A representative from Footballer's Mission Together expressed, "We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of our first Veterans Competition. We hope to receive similar support this time around. The media plays a crucial role in the success of any initiative, and we sincerely request your assistance in promoting and disseminating information about Football Mission Together and this tournament."
