News Kiran's Third Spell In Punjab Starts With A Win

Nepal number one Kiran Chemjong's team RoundGlass Punjab FC have made a winning start in the new season of the Hero I-League. Punjab defeated Sreenidi Deccan FC 2-1 as Kiran starts his third spell with the Punjabi outfit.

Punjab scored both of their goals in the first half of the match. Luka Majcen have Punjab the lead in the 23rd minute and Samuel Lalmuanpuia doubled their lead in the 43rd minute. Shahbaz Khan pulled one back for Deccan in the 58th minute, but Punjab held on to get all three points.

Kiran played the whole ninety minutes as the first-choice goalkeeper. Punjab will face Mohammedan Sporting Club in their next match on Sunday.

Kiran had previously won the league title while playing for then Minerva Punjab in 2017-18. Similarly, in the 2019-20 season, he played for  Punjab in his second spell.

The winners of the I-League will be promoted to the Indian Super League for next season for the first time.
