Kusma Sports Club, Parbat is organizing a Gandaki province-level seven-a-side football tournament. The tournament will be held from April 5 to 9.

As the risk of COVID-19 is decreasing, the province level competition has been organized with the objective of making the sports field mobile and making the players aware, said club president Bikram Shrestha.

"There was a lack of space for the players to practice. Now, after the state ministry has given Rs. five lakhs, Badagaun ground has been prepared. This is the reason why the competition has been organized," said Chairman Shrestha.

According to him, the winner of the competition will get Rs 150,000 in cash and the runner-up will get Rs 75,000. At least one team from all the districts of the state is prepared to participate and more than one team will also be able to participate.

The organizers estimate that at least 20 teams will compete in a knockout format. Chairman Shrestha said that Rs. 8,000 has been kept as fees for team registrations and efforts are being made to provide some assistance to the players from outside the district.

The competition, estimated to cost around Rs 15 lakhs is being looked after by government and private organizations, including the local level.

In case of accumulation of money from sports, the money will be used to mobilize the tourism sector through sports, run capacity building programs for the youth, lead the youth in the social sector, help the senior citizens living in the old age home at Modibeni Dham. The club says it will provide free training, uniforms and support for the study of some students.
