Nepal Police Club have rounded off the ninth round of matches of the Martyrs' Memorial A Division League with a 2-1 win over Chyasal Youth Club at the Dasharath Stadium today. Ravi Paswan scored two for the policemen in their win.
The match which was previously postponed due to COVID outbreak in the Chyasal camp was rescheduled for last Saturday but wet pitch at the Dasharath Stadium meant another rescheduling for today.
Police took the lead in the 37th minute of the first half through Ravi Paswan who was the star of the match today. The first half was equally contested but both teams couldn't create a lot of chances. The first half ended 1-0.
It didn't take long for Chyasal to equalise in the second half. Moussa Abigana converted a penalty with great composure to equalise and bring Chyasal back in the game.
But the day belonged to Ravi Paswan. He again put NPC in the lead in the 66th minute of the match through a great finish off a through ball. A brilliant run from him from midfield and he received a through ball that he dispatched well into the net.
After conceding the goal, Chyasal tried to show some urgency and had some chances of their own. But they couldn't equalise again and had to succumb to a defeat yet again.
Ravi Paswan, who scored a brace was adjudged the player of the match.
With the win, Nepal Police Club move to 10th in the table with 10 points from nine matches while Chyasal remain 13th with just five points on board from nine matches of their own.
