Special Court Acquits Four Football Players & A Coach

The Special Court has acquitted former Nepal national team skipper Sagar Thapa and four others, who were accused of a match fixing.
Thapa, former vice-captain Sandeep Rai, Ritesh Thapa, Bikash Chhetri and Anjan KC were arrested three years ago on the charge of match fixing.
Current Nepal Police IGP Sarbendra Khanal had led the investigation against them.
According to onlinekhabar.com, A division bench of Justices Baburam Regmi, Pramod Kumar Shrestha Baidya and Narayan Prasad Pokharel handed clean chits to the suspects, who were accused of committing a crime against the state.
Though they have received clean chits, FIFA has placed a ban on them for life after finding guilty.
