News Adarsh Youth Club Triumphs in Inaugural Match of 25th Adarsh Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament

The 25th edition of the Adarsh Cup Open Knockout Football Tournament kicked off in style on Saturday, with the host team, Adarsh Youth Club, securing a narrow 1-0 victory over ANFA Tanahun in the opening match at Lekhnath Stadium.

The only goal of the match was scored by Sajin Magar, who delivered a clinical finish to give Adarsh Youth Club a vital win. Magar’s decisive goal not only secured the three points for the hosts but also earned him the Man of the Match award. For his stellar performance, Magar was presented with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 along with a trophy.

With this victory, Adarsh Youth Club has successfully advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament. The win sets a positive tone for the host team as they aim for the coveted title.

The tournament's second quarter-final match will take place on Sunday, November 23, between Nepal Army Siddhidal Battalion and Armed Police Force, Gandaki Headquarters, organizers confirmed.

The tournament was officially inaugurated by Suren Raj Pandey, the Chief Guest from Gandaki Province. His presence marked the start of what is expected to be an exciting and competitive event.

Organized by Adarsh Youth Club, Pokhara-29, Bhandardhik, Sainikbasti, the tournament will see a total cash prize of Rs 425,525 for the champions, while the runner-up will receive Rs 225,525, along with a trophy, medal, and certificate. The grand final is scheduled for Mangsir 29, and fans are eagerly anticipating the high-level football action.
