Butwal Lumbini FC became the champion of Golden Eminent Chitwan gold cup 2-0 in the final held today at Nepal Police Academy Bharatpur.
Butwal Lumbini sidelined Police 2-0 in the final. Sanish Shrestha and Ayush Ghalan scored to make Butwal Lumbini champions.
With this, Butwal Lumbini has won the first title in Nepali football. Earlier, they took part in NRNA first Ilam Gold Cup 2080 and the second Taplejung Gold Cup 2081.
Champion Butwal Lumbini received 6 lakhs with the title, while the police settled for 3 lakhs. Butwal captain Eric Wist was the player of the match. He was also declared the best player of the tournament. He received Rs.15,000. Shatrudhan Chaudhary of Police became the best goalkeeper, Sunish of Butwal Lumbini was the best defender, Ram Waji of Police was the best midfielder, Raj Bhusal of the organizer Hanami Bharatpur Football Club was the best forward and Raju Lama of Butwal Lumbini was the best coach. They each received 10,000 rupees.
10 teams participated in the tournament organized by Bharatpur Football Club. Golden Eminent International was the main sponsor of the competition and Hanami International Education was the co-sponsor. Bagmati State Government, Bharatpur Metropolitan City and Chitwan District Football Association were among the promoters of the tournament.
