Japanese football icon Keisuke Honda, who is currently in Kathmandu with Bhutanese league champions Paro FC, has expressed significant dissatisfaction with the training facilities provided to his team.
In a candid video posted on his official TikTok account, Honda shared his frustration, describing the conditions at the team's initial training venue as a "joke." Paro FC had originally been scheduled to train at Chyasal Stadium, but recent flooding had rendered the ground unusable. As a result, Church Boys United, the host team, offered an alternative training ground at the Army HQ.
Honda's mentioned he observed multiple people mowing the grass and preparing the training ground. “I thought it was a joke,” Honda said in the video. “When we arrived at the training, many people were mowing the ground.”
Despite the initial setback, Paro FC was eventually able to train at the main stadium, Dasharath Stadium, which Honda did not criticize. However, he chose not to compare the facilities to those he has experienced elsewhere.
The official statement from the visiting club regarding the training venue hasn't surfaced yet.
Paro FC is scheduled to face Nepal's Church Boys United tomorrow at Dasharath Stadium.
