News Jhapa: Hosts Purbeli Youth Club Enters SFs

With the help of Bikarn Shrestha's four goals, the host Purveli Youth Club (Red) has entered the semi-finals of the Durgadevi Shrestha Memorial Veterans Football Tournament.

In the last quarter-final match held on Thursday at the Domalal Rajvanshi Stadium in Birtamod, the hosts showered goals against the visiting team MCC Veterans Football Club of ILam.

After defeating Ilam by a wide margin of 6-0, the host Purveli Youth Club (Red) has entered the last four. Bikarna scored in the 10th, 22nd, 26th and 40th minutes of the game.

Similarly, in the 30th minute of the game Vishal Rai A and in the 34th minute Ramesh Gurung scored one goal each. Bikarn Shrestha was the player of the match 4 goalscorer of the tournament. He got cash 2500 and trophy.

Tomorrow's first semi-final match will be between host Blue and Chandragarhi Veterans FC. Similarly, Virat Mega Veterans will face hosts Red for entry to the finals.

Deepen Chowdhury, the acting president of organizer Purveli Yuva Club, said that the final match of the tournament, in which eight teams from Koshi region are participating, will be held on Jestha 7.

Chowdhury said that the winner of the competition will get Rs 1 lakh 1 thousand 111 in cash, trophy and medal, while the runner-up will get Rs 55 thousand 555 in cash. Likewise, the player of the match of each game will receive cash 2500 and a trophy.

The best player of the tournament will be awarded 10,000 cash and a trophy. Coordinator Tekraj Teeling said that the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, high scorer and coach of the tournament will receive cash of five thousand and a trophy.

Ravin Shrestha, chairman of Purveli Yuva Club Birtamod, presented the cash prize to the winner in memory of his mother Durgadevi Shrestha. This club, established 15 years ago as a joint organization of the leading youth of Birtamod, has been leading in social work along with sports.
