News Machhindra FC Defends Title Of KP Oli Cup

Machhindra FC has defended the title of KP Oli Cup.

The White Lions defeated NRT on penalties on Saturday to lift the title.

Machindra defended the title by defeating NRT 5-4 in penalty shootout in the final played at Dasharath Stadium. The first edition was also won by Machindra.

Machindra became the champion after NRT's Bivek Gurung, who took the last penalty in the penalty shootout, missed the shot.

After the match ended in a goalless draw at the scheduled time, the decision of the match was made directly from the penalty shootout. Machindra's Sanish Shrestha, Diwakar Chaudhary, Stefan Samir Binong, Christopher and Devendra Tamang scored a penalty.

Saroj Tamang, Sanji Bista, Abhishek Limbu and Mohit Gurung scored for NRT. Bivek Gurung's shot went off the post.

Champion Machindra won the title with 11 lakhs in cash. Similarly, the runner-up NRT got 5 lakhs. 10 teams including 7 A division clubs, two Indian clubs Delhi FC and Manebhajang FC and the host team participated in the competition.
