The first inter-school Inspector General of Armed Police Running Trophy football tournament organized by Nepal APF School, Kirtipur Kathmandu with a cash prize of Rs.50,000 started on Monday.
The inauguration program was organized under the chief hospitality of Chandra Prakash Gautam, Chairman of School Management Committee and Head of Human Resource Department, Additional Inspector General of Armed Police.
In this competition, a total of 10 teams are taking part. The event will be played on league-cum-knockout basis.
The purpose of this competition is to develop and expand the football game from the school level, currently in Kathmandu Valley and in the future, APF schools outside Kathmandu Valley, other schools and football clubs will also be included in this competition.
In the opening match between Laboratory Secondary School Kirtipur defeated Nepal APF School Kirtipur B team 3-1. In the second match, Sainik Awasiya MA VI defeated Little Angels Lalitpur 6-1.
In the event, Armed Police Force Nepal Sports and Physical Education School Chief Superintendent of Armed Police Sudhir Subedi was a special guest and the principal of this school, Mr. Yuvraj Parajuli, gave a welcome speech.
School extracurricular activity coordinator teacher Raj Kumar Pyakurel presented the sports report. On the occasion, Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Rajendra Guragai was the chief guest on the occasion, special guests were media personalities who were present through various media, officials of the school management committee, officials who were present from various offices, officials of All Nepal Football Association, all referees and managers, teams from different schools. Coaches and managers, intellectuals, local gentlemen, teachers, representatives of Nepal APF School Alumni Association, players and students were all thanked.
In today's opening match, Aryan Thapa, the best player of Laboratory Secondary School, Kirtipur, was awarded a trophy by the head of Armed Police Force Nepal Sports and Physical Education School, Armed Police Superintendent Sudhir Subedi.
Bhuwan Kami was announced and POTM in the second match.
