In the second Lahan Mayor Gold Cup organized by Him Kasturi Yuva Club Lahan, the organizers have made a winning start.

In the opening match held on Monday at Pashupati Adarsh Mavi, the hosts defeated Birat Megha Sports Academy of Biratnagar by 1-0 and entered the semi-finals.

Niraj Karki scored the decisive goal for Lahan's victory. Niraj's goal in the 40th minute of the game secured the place in the last four. He became the man of the match.

Dhankuta will compete against Hetauda football academy today. The winner of the Gold Cup, sponsored by Lahan Municipality, will receive a trophy with cash of 3 lakhs and the runner-up with cash of 150,000.
