First Nepali Origin To Get A Professional Contract In English Football League

English football league 2 side, Newport county has signed Nepali origin Kiban Rai.

Newport County attacking midfielder, Kiban Rai has become the first player of Nepalese heritage to get a professional contract in the English Football League.

"I think this is a moment to celebrate for Nepalese heritage, whether they are here in the UK or back home (Nepal)', said Rai to SkySports News.

Another Nepali origin female player, Asmita Ale plays for Tottenham Hotspurs.
