
ABC Veterans Pokhara has clinched the title of the 7th Veterans Cup in Hetauda. ABC Pokhara defeated Nagaswati Veterans Hetauda by 2-1 to win the title.
Hari Khadka scored the first goal for ABC in the seventh minute of the scheduled time. Naren Limbu of Nagaswati Veterans equalized in the 17th minute of the match.
Despite a draw in the first half, ABC veterans clinched the title after Narendra Jung Gurung added a goal for AVC in the 27th minute of the second half. Man of the match was Narendra Jung Gurung of AVC.
The winner ABC received a certificate and medal worth Rs 111,111 along with the trophy while the runner-up Nagaswati Veterans received a certificate and medal worth Rs 55,555 along with the trophy.
Prizes were also distributed to the players in various categories after the final.. The best goalkeeper of the tournament award was given to Surya Sharma of ABC, best coach; Suraj Gurung of ABC, midfielder Mahendra Gurung of ABC. Best player award was given to ABC's Bishwaraj Shrestha.
Similarly, Nima Lama of Nagaswati and Milan Rai of Nagaswati were declared the best forward and defender respectively.
The winners and runners-up were awarded by Hetauda Sub-metropolitan Chief Hari Bahadur Mahat and Hetauda Veterans Club President Deepak Bajracharya.
Sushil Ghimire, president of the Campa Stadium, the playground of the Piple Youth Club, was honored. Chairman of Hetauda Ward No. 5 Rajesh Baniya, Chairman of Ward No. 6 Arjun Prasad Chaulagai, Chairman of District Football Association Tikaram Lama and Sports Program Coordinator Maniraj Gautam were present on the occasion.
