1st Mukti, Rajendra, Rajesh & Om Prakash Memorial Cup got underway in Kapilvastu on Thursday.

Bhairab FC, Nawalparasi defeated Naya basti FC Chitwan 2-0 in the opening match.

Asik Gurung and Anup Gurung scored apiece for the winners. Gurung became the man of the match.

Eight teams are taking part in the event, which has a winning purse of Nrs 2 lakh.

Runners up team will get Nrs 1 lakh.
