In a spectacular showdown between Nepal and Maldives, Nepal emerged victorious with a resounding 4-1 scoreline. The early momentum was set by Prashant Laksham, who found the back of the net in the 16th minute, giving Nepal a crucial lead. Samir Tamang further extended the advantage with another goal in the 29th minute, as halftime arrived with Nepal firmly in control.
However, the game took a dramatic turn as both teams were reduced to 10 players each after Sujan Dangol and Maldives' skipper Iyaan Hassan received red cards. Maldives managed to cut the deficit at the 58th minute mark, injecting excitement into the match.
Nepal remained undeterred, and Niranjan Dhamki struck another goal in the 87th minute, securing their lead. To cap off an action-packed game, Samir Tamang scored his second goal of the match in additional time, sealing Nepal's impressive 4-1 victory.
Nepal will now await the result from India and Bhutan - that will be played later this evening - for semifinal clash.
