The 14th Jitpursimpara Gold Cup Knockout Football Tournament kicked off on Saturday in Simara.

Departmental team Tribhuvan Army Football Club, Kathmandu defeated Birgunj United 3-2 in the opening match played at Simara stadium.

Army's Dinesh Henjan became the Match in the match & received 10,000 in cash and a trophy.

With this victory, Army has entered the quarterfinals. As part of the competition, the match on Sunday will be played between Salhesh Youth Club and Church Boys United, the organizers informed.

The winner of the inaugural competition organized by Nav Jan Jagriti Yuva Club, Jitpursimra-2, Bara will receive 10 lakhs in cash along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 5 lakhs.

The final match will be held on the 3rd of Baisakh.
