I-League leader Minerva FC boss Ranjit Bajaj revealed that his five players were approached to fix matches.

Minerva Punjab FC has written a letter to the All India Football Federation (AIFF), on Sunday, alleging five of their players were approached to fix matches in I-League.

"Yes, Minerva FC has again written to us saying five of their players have been sent messages through mobile phone to fix matches. The integrity officer of the federation is looking into the matter," an AIFF official told The Telegraph.

"Earlier, Minerva said two of their players were asked to fix matches. The present messages seem to have come from the same phone numbers. The federation could approach the police to solve the matter," the official further said.

This is not the first time Minerva FC players were approached for match fixing.

Earlier their two players were approached as revealed by the club’s boss.

Both Minerva FC and AIFF have refused to reveal the name of the players who were approached.

The club recently signed Nepal number one goalie Kiran Chemjong to the club. Bhutan international Chencho is also playing from Punjab based club.

Currently, Minerva FC are comfortably placed at the top in the I-League table with 25 points from 10 matches. They are followed by Neroca with 21 points from 12 outings.
