Bagmati club, Sarlahi has signed 17 players for Martyr’s memorial C Division league qualifiers and other tournaments.
The club has also signed some A Division league players.
The club has received massive support from Bagmati municipality and its mayor Bharat Thapa so that it was able to sign 17 players.
According to signed deals, senior players will get NRs 22,500 plus petrol expenses every month. Junior players will get NRs 12,500 plus other expenses.
According to Mayor Bharat Thapa, they have provided jobs to the players to motivate them and help them to complete their football playing career without any worry. The players can continue their job post playing career till 58 years.
This is the first time in Nepal that municipality has provided job offers (through clubs) to players en masse.
The club has targeted to play in A Division league in five years. They have their own training field and youth academy.
Club president Kismat Raj Mainali has thanked Bagmati municipality and its mayor Thapa for the support.
“We can’t think about this investment without support from municipality. This is a great step for us. Players can now play the game worry free. They have their jobs now. We are competing in C Division league qualifiers. We are determined to get C Division status this year”, said president Mainali.
ANFA hasn’t announced the dates for qualifiers due to global pandemic. The FA is yet to complete interrupted B Division & C Division league.
General secretary of Sarlahi based club, Sagar Mainali added they would do everything possible to play A Division league in coming years.
“This is our dream which we think is achievable”, said Mainali.
