National sports council recommended sports ministry to honor Nepal women's team with Nrs 1 lakh each but the ministry has ignored the recommendation.

The ministry honored SAFF silver medallist players with just Nrs 32,000 each.

The ministry organized the program on Wednesday to honor the players.

Cheli received Nrs 50,000 each from Biratnagar metro on Monday & Nrs 1 lakh each from Province 1 government on Tuesday for their feat. But the sports ministry - whose responsibility should be bigger - provided mere Nrs 32,000.

Nepal performed well but suffered 3-1 loss in the final to India. Nepal have never won the title of SAFF women's championship despite reaching final in many occasions.
