Hosts Makwanpur XI has moved to semifinals defeating Machhindra FC 2-1 in the opening match of Bhugarva cement Martyr’s memorial Makwnapur gold cup at Forestry ground, Hetauda on Thursday.

Kazeem scored both goals for the winners.

Two-goal hero Kazeem was declared the man of the match and received Nrs 10,000 cash.

Himalayan Sherpa Club will play against Nepal APF in the pre-quarterfinal match tomorrow.

Makwanpur DFA is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Nrs 8 lakh. 

10 teams are taking part in the event.

Bhugarva cement is the main sponsor of the event. Hetauda sub metro, Thaha municipality and other rural municipalities are supporting the organizers.
