Nepal U16 women's team suffered 4-0 loss at the hands of Philippines in AFC U16 group E qualifiers on Wednesday.

Coaches’s View:

Ganga Gurung(Nepal)
Nepal’s coach Gurung was not seen so convincing in the post-match conference stating it was defensive line’s weakness that was worked on very nicely by Philippines team during the game. She also said that clinical finishing was lacking because of which Nepal didn’t take the lead in the first half. She added, the first two goals was the turning point of the match and the girls were hopeless after conceding the first goal in 42 nd minute.

“If Nepal is to go to the next round, performance has to be improved and will have to work hard. Nepal will have to play to win the remaining games”, junior team’s coach added. She even said few team changes are to be expected for the upcoming game.

Joyce Bernardo Landagan(Philippines)
Philippines coach on the other hand was quiet happy in the post-match conference.

She said, “We will have to work hard in the coming games and have to play even better than this if we are to go to the next round.” She said it was not the luck that favored the side for not falling behind in first half but was the hard work on the field by the girls. She stated Nepal are a tough side to play against and can even reach next round if they play well.
