Nepal U16 women's team coach Ganga Gurung has aimed to qualify to the final round of AFC U16 women's championship.

Gurung said, "We have done good preparation for the qualifiers. We had good match exposure in SAFF U15 championship. We aim to qualify to the final round".

Skipper Preeti Rai said, "We have worked hard. We have learned so many things from SAFF U15 championship. We will play our best".

Nepal women's team suffered big setback when they suffered loss to Bhutan for the first time in history. Bhutan defeated Nepal 4-3 on penalties to claim third position in SAFF U15 championship.

Nepal is hosting Group E qualifiers from Wednesday at APF ground Halchowk.

Nepal are grouped with Malaysia, Myanmar and Philippines. Nepal will play against Philippines in its opening match.

Two teams from the group will go to final round to be played in Thailand next year.
