Nepal's interim head coach Bal Gopal Maharjan said his target is to achieve better result with the team in SAFF championship 2018.

Bangladesh is hosting the event from September 4-15 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Coach Maharjan said, "Our target is to achieve better result in SAFF championship. I am thankful to ANFA for believing in me. I have always fulfilled my duty. I am sure we will do better in this coming championship".

"After friendly matches in Thailand and Asian Games 2018, we have analyzed the performance and I am happy with the players' performance in training sessions. We lack proper defending and we are poor in final third. We are working hard to fix these issues", added former Nepal international.
