News Kathmandu District Court Clears Way For ANFA Election On Baisakh 22

ANFA Presidential election will be held in Baisakh 22 after Kathmandu district election did not issue interim stay order.

Today, Kathmandu District Court decided it wasn't necessary to issue interim stay order in verdict to the writ filed by ANFA treasurer cum Kathmandu DFA President Birat Jung Shahi along with other eight district officials on Wednesday against ANFA, ANFA election committee and NSC demanding interim stay order to halt the election claiming that the election was against the statutes.

After a single bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Ramesh Raj Pokharel decided that it was not necessary to issue interim stay order.

ANFA VP Mani Kunwar and former VP Karma Tsering Sherpa are vying for the post.

Earlier, ANFA election, that was scheduled on Chaitra 14, was postponed after Patan high court issued interim order on Chaitra 7 after two district football associations, Bhaktapur DFA President Gautam Sukhaju and Makwanpur DFA senior VP Mani Shrestha, filed writ mentioning that they were restricted from voting rights in ANFA central election.


On April 25, 2018, ANFA election was confirmed for Baisakh 22 after Patan high court cancelled interim stay order.
