First Bishnu Kumari Gurung memorial 7-A-side football tournament kicked off at Amar Singh ground, Pokhara on Thursday.

Kaski district co-ordination committee President Bayan Bahadur Chhetri inaugurated the tournament.

Masina defeated Seti Boys 3-2 on penalties in the opening match.

42 teams are taking part in the tournament which has a winning purse of Rs.2,25,000. Runners-up team will receive Rs.1,01,100.

The Best Player, the best goalkeeper, the best midfielder and the highest goal scorer of the tournament will be awarded with Rs.5000 each.

Bouddha Shanti Club is organizing the tournament.
