Brigade Boys Kathmandu and Sankata Football Club will face off in the final of the International Invitational 1st Intra Pathri Shanishare Gold Cup, taking place at Pathri Shanishare in Morang, Kathmandu. Brigade Boys secured their spot in the final after a tense semi-final match on Thursday, where they defeated Jhapa 11.
The match ended in a goalless draw after regulation time, leading to a tiebreaker that went into sudden death. Jhapa entered the game with four national team players—Debendra Tamang, Hisup Thapalia, Utsav Rai, and Saubhagya Rai—but couldn’t clinch the win despite several scoring opportunities.
In the tiebreaker, both teams missed their initial shots. After a 4-4 draw in the tiebreaker, sudden death determined the winner. Saubhagya Rai wasted the kick.
Brigade Boys advanced to the final by defeating Salahes Siraha and Jhapa 11, while Sankata reached the final after overcoming UK FC India and the host team, Pathri 11. Diwakar Chaudhary from Brigade Boys was named the man of the match and received a cash prize of 5,000. The final will take place on Saturday, with the winner receiving 300,000 in cash and the runner-up a trophy medal worth 200,000.
The tournament is being held at the Pathri Stadium, organized by Pathri 11, with Intra Foundation America as the main sponsor and Pathari Shanishare Municipality as the primary supporter.
