The schedule of the 23rd Aha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup International Invitational Knockout Football Tournament, one of the oldest and most prestigious of Mofusal, has been announced.

In the opening match of the tournament to be held at the Pokhara Stadium, the host Sahara Club, Pokhara and Three Star Football Club, Kathmandu will face each other on the 9th of Magh.

The final match of the tournament in which a total of 12 teams from Nepal, India and Bhutan are participating will be held on the 20th of January.

The winner of the competition will receive 1.2 million in cash along with the title, while the runner-up will receive 0.6 million. Sankata Club won the last edition of the competition.

The money saved from the tournament will be spent on the Surya Bahadur KC Memorial Sahara Football Academy run by the organizer Sahara Club at Dobilla, Pokhara-17, said Sahara Club General Secretary Ramji Adhikari.

Currently, 14 underprivileged child athletes are dependent on the academy.
