Pokhara, October 28 - Sabin Memorial has clinched a spot in the semifinals of the highly-anticipated second open futsal tournament in Pokhara. This remarkable feat was achieved as part of the tournament organized by Rajan and the Brothers, and it was confirmed following their impressive victory over Freedom Fighters, with a final score of 2-1 in favor of Sabin Memorial.

The quarter-final match unfolded at the Pokhara Rangshala Covered Hall, witnessing Avinash Tamang as the standout performer for Sabin Memorial, securing the decisive goal that propelled his team to the semifinals. In an unfortunate turn of events, a Freedom Fighter inadvertently scored an own goal. On the opposing side, Navin Lama managed to secure a consolation goal for Freedom Fighters.

In addition to this exciting development, five pre-quarter matches were successfully concluded on Monday, with Maintain FC, Freedom Fighters Kathmandu, and AD United Pokhara all advancing to the quarterfinals.

Ashish Chhetri, the competition coordinator, announced that the triumphant team in the tournament would be awarded a substantial cash prize of NPR 5 lakh, along with a prestigious shield, medals, and certificates. The runner-up would not go empty-handed either, receiving a cash prize of NPR 3 lakh, in addition to a shield, medals, and certificates. Furthermore, the tournament's most outstanding player would be honored with a substantial cash prize of NPR 50,000, accompanied by a trophy. The best goalkeeper and highest scorer would also receive their respective cash awards.

This remarkable competition has attracted a total of 14 teams from across the nation, all vying for glory in the tournament, which will continue until the 30th, promising to be a spectacular showcase of futsal prowess.
