News USA: Louisville Rising Star Clinches Title Of 2nd Tennessee Cup

The 2nd Tennessee Cup Interstate Soccer Tournament, organized by Tennessee Youth in collaboration with Our Circe Group, successfully concluded on October 8, 2023.

In the youth category, six teams from various states participated, while the veterans category featured four teams from different states. The tournament adopted a league cum knockout format for both categories.

In the youth category, the final match saw Mr. Subham Tamang making an impressive header goal at the 68th minute for his team, Louisville Rising Star.

They clinched the championship trophy, along with medals and a cash prize of $8,000. The runners-up from Peach State Georgia received trophies, medals, and a cash prize of $5,000. The tournament also recognized Happy Rai as the Best Goalie and awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title to Anmol Ghalley from Louisville Rising Star.

Furthermore, Mr. Kamal Rai, wearing the number 17 jersey, was the highest scorer, and Mr. Heman Chettri, wearing number 30, was recognized as the Best Defender, both representing Peach State.

In the veterans category, the final between Intra Cincy FC and Georgia Veterans ended in a goalless draw after 40-40 minutes. Intra Cincy FC's goalkeeper, Mr. Bikka Rai, made a significant impact by saving two consecutive goals in the penalty shootout, securing the championship trophy and a cash prize of $5,000, along with trophies and medals for his team. Georgia Veterans received $3,000 in cash, along with trophies and medals.

The tournament coordinators, Mr. Rupesh Chettri and Naresh Gurung, extended their heartfelt appreciation to all the volunteers, sponsors, teams, spectators, and media, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the tournament's success. They also expressed gratitude to Everest Restaurant and Bar for providing affordable food to all teams and hosting a memorable musical night with renowned singer Jagdish Samal on the second day of the tournament to entertain the participants.

The 2nd Tennessee Cup Tournament was inaugurated by GoalNepal Nepal Brand Ambassador USA, Jitu Kaká, while Chief Guest Mr. Praksah Gartoula from Freedom Home Care and Bhutanese Community Leader Mr. Hari Bangaley, along with other community leaders and social workers, distributed the prizes to the deserving teams and players.
