ANFA president Pankaj Bikram Nembang said his leadership was trying their best to normalize the situation at ANFA.

Speaking with the press in Bangalore, president Nembang said ANFA is under FIFA control funding and it was difficult for them to run the organization in smooth manner.

"We all stakeholders need to work together. I need support from all. We need support from central government too. ANFA can't do a lot of things. We need to unite & work together for the development of the game.

"After becoming the president, I came to know the real problems at ANFA. For now, we are under FIFA control funding. It means all our funds are governed, monitored by FIFA.

"We had NRs 20 lakh in our account when we took over the organization. At FIFA's Account, we had 300K USD but it was still under FIFA control. The control was imposed due to poor internal audit done before our leadership", said Nembang.

"We are working seriously with FIFA's consultant here in Kathmandu. The officials from FIFA recently came to Kathmandu to oversee the situation. Things are better now but we still have some queries to sort out. I think we will have better situation when we improve our audit at ANFA. It may take some time but we are optimistic", he added.

Nembang cleared that they can use their account in their own way but not from FIFA's & AFC's account.

"For your information, we are now trying to generate more income to ANFA. Recently, we received NRs 1.5 crore from NSL, from that amount we are now running our expenses.

"I must share this we had NRs 15 crore to pay when we came to the office. Now we are still paying it. It is now under 7 crores. We still have to pay to the clubs and districts. The payment process is slow because we are under FIFA control funding", added Nembang.

When asked him about the plan ahead, president Nembang said they were trying to fix the problems first.

"Honestly, we are trying to fix the problems first. Our scheduled programs are on-going. We are focusing on women's football. We believe we can play world cup in women's category if we work hard. We are planning to start women’s academy in three places. We conducted the league well. We played AFC U20 second round qualifiers, lifted SAFF U15 women’s championship. Overall, I am happy with my first year in the office", he added.

He also spoke about building solid national teams.

"We want to build solid national teams. Many players may have left the country but we still believe we have many quality players in the country. We will now scout them and train them well.

"One thing is clear. Our football needs to be commercialized. Clubs need to fulfil AFC club licensing to improve our game. League should be bigger & broader. For this, we all need to work together", he concluded.
