AFC U17 Asian Cup Qualifiers: Nepal Beats Jordan
Nepal kept their hopes of advancing alive with a 4-1 win over Jordan in Group H at the Prince Mohammad International Stadium.
Nepal, edged 1-0 by Islamic Republic of Iran on Wednesday, took a 3-0 lead in the first half through Barsha Oli’s 13th minute strike before goals from Sukriya Miya (32nd) and Maya Maske (44th).
Miya added the fourth in the 55th minute with Jordan scoring a consolation through Lylia Ammar Al Saheli in the 93rd minute.
The eight group winners will advance to Round 2, scheduled for September 16 to 24.
They will be divided into two groups and the top two teams from each group will join the three highest seeded sides from the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship Thailand 2019 – defending champions Japan, DPR Korea and China PR – and hosts Indonesia in the Finals, set for April 7 to 20, 2024.
