News Morang: APF Into The Semifinals Of Belbari Invitational Gold Cup

Morang (GoalNepal) - APF Football Club, Kathmandu have entered the semi-finals of the fifth edition of the Belbari Buddha Air International Invitational Gold Cup Football Tournament. In the tournament's third quarterfinal held on Saturday, APF defeated Sahara Club, Pokhara 5-4 on penalties to make it to the semifinals.

The regulation time ended 1-1 and the match was sent to penalties. Nabin Lama gave APF the lead in the 23rd minute of the match which was neutralised by Dipesh Lama's goal in the 40th minute.

Sanish Shrestha, Nabin Lama, Sudeep Shikharkar, Dipesh Dhimal and Raju Nagarkoti scored goals for APF in the tiebreaker. 

Pokhara's Dipesh Ale Magar, Saroj Yonjan, Jay Gurung and Ajit Bhandari converted their spot kicks while Ashish Gurung's shot was blocked by APF goalkeeper Raju Nagarkoti.

Raju Nagarkoti was adjudged the player of the match. He received Rs. 5,000 cash prize.

India's United Brothers Kalimpong and Rajarani Football Club, Dhankuta will face each other on Sunday.

The winners of the tournament will receive a whopping eight lakh rupees while the runners-up will receive four lakh rupees. A total of ten teams, including three teams from abroad, are competing in the tournament.

The player of the tournament organized by Dangihat FC will receive Rs. 25,000 while the best defender, goalkeeper, midfielder, top scorer and rising player each will receive Rs. 15,000.
