News Jhapa: Dhankuta Into The Semis Of Khudunabari Gold Cup

Dhankuta Women's Football Club have entered the semi-finals of the third Khudunabari Gold Cup, the province 1 level women's football tournament held at Arjundhara in Jhapa. In the last quarter-final of the Gold Cup, Dhankuta secured their place in the last four by defeating the Sunsari District Football Association 4-0.

Anjana Thulung Rai scored the first goal four minutes into the game to give Dhankuta the lead. Anjana scored the second goal for Dhankuta in the 16th minute of the game. Razina Magar scored the third goal for Dhankuta in the 21st minute of the first half. Likewise, Sandhya Ramtel scored the fourth goal in the 25th minute for Dhankuta to give the team a 4-0 lead.

Dhankuta Women's Football Club scored four goals in the first half of the allotted 60 minutes but could not add more goals in the second half. The Sunsari District Football Association showed an improved performance in the second half but could not score a goal.

Anjana Thulung Rai of Dhankuta, who scored two goals for the team was declared the player of the match. She received Rs. 1,000 in cash along with a trophy. In the first semi-final of the Gold Cup, the host Juntara Women's Football Club Arjundhara and Gaighat Football Club Udaipur will compete on Thursday.

The winners of the competition will get a trophy with 1,01,111 rupees in cash, while the runners-up will get a trophy with 55,555 rupees. 

Khudunabari Gold Cup is organized by Charity Youth Club of Arjundhara-3. Juntara Women's Football Club is the co-host of the Gold Cup, which Arjundhara Municipality is the main promoter. Signature Whiskey is the main sponsor of the Gold Cup.
