The Sports & Youth Activities Sub- Committee of Non- Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) honored GoalNepal.com along with other three sports entities with Sports Contribution Award 2014 on Saturday in the NRN Day 2014 celebration program held at Hotel Yak and Yeti.

NRNA also honored other three sports personalities - Nepal National Cricket Team, Former Machhindra FC VP Biplav Gautam and Nepal Women Karate player Bimala Tamang.
NRNA President Shesh Ghale handed award to them.
NRNA said that they had honored GoalNepal.com for providing consitent and timely coverage of Nepali football to NRNs across the globe through its Internet website, mobile app and social media channels.
Nepal National Cricket Team was honored for uplifting, energizing and creating an immense sense of pride among the NRN community through their qualification for and performance at the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2014 that was broadcast around the world on premier global sports networks. Sompal Kami and Rahul BK received the award on behalf of the team.
Biplav Gautam was honored with the award for providing creative leadership and expertise to the Nepali Sports sector and setting an example for NRNs to share their knowledge, skills and experience for Nepal's develpoment in different fields. His father, Kul Chandra Gautam received the award on his behalf.
Bimala Tamang was honored for her great accomplishment of securing a bronze medal in the Women's Kata Karate competition at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, Korea Republic which brought pride and enthusiasm to the NRN community.
The NRNA also donated to to initiatives and charities in which the honorees are involved in including GoalNepal Fund, the National Cricket Players Welfare Fund and Biratnagar Sports Academy.
All of them received Rs. 10,000 cash each.
