Nepal Women's National Team and Gokulam Kerala FC forward Sabitra "Samba" Bhandari is set to return to Nepal tomorrow to re-join the women's national team camp. The women's national team is currently preparing for the SAFF Women's Championship going to be held in Kathmandu in September.

Samba had traveled to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with the South Indian outfit to participate in the AFC Women's Club Championship last week. But due to the recent suspension of AIFF by FIFA, Gokulam weren't able to participate in the continental tournament and had to return.

Bhandari spent the 2019-20 season with Gokulam Kerala and lifted the league title before joining the team again in July. She also finished the league as the top scorer with 16 goals during that season. Bhandari previously also played for Sethu FC and lifted the IWL title in 2019.

Bhandari has been an established name in the Nepal national women's team, racking up a record 38 goals for the country. The striker is also a league champion in India in her previous stint with Gokulam. The Prolific forward made her comeback after an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in the National Women's League opening match against Tribhuwan Army FC back in March. She made her comeback after more than 13 months on the sidelines.
