News Darshan's Goal Was Nepal's First vs Kuwait In 40 Years

In the second match of the group stage of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, Nepal lost 4-1 to Kuwait but managed to make history.

Young forward Darshan Gurung scored a goal for Nepal in the 90+4 minute of injury time in the match played in Kuwait City on Saturday night. The goal of Darshan, who entered the field as a substitute, did not save Nepal from defeat but became a historic goal.

Darshan's goal against Kuwait was the first in four decades. In other words, Nepal managed to score a goal against Kuwait after 40 years. Nepal last scored its first goal against Kuwait in 1982. It was also the first meeting between Nepal and Kuwait in international football.

Nepal scored its first goal against Kuwait in men's football at the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, India. At that time, Y.B. Ghale scored the goal. Nepal had lost the match 3-1.
