Nepal national team currently in Doha in preparation for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers have played a draw against Sri Lanka in an unofficial friendly today.

In a match played behind closed doors, Nepal played a 1-1 draw. Newly-appointed skipper Nawayug Shrestha leveled the score for Nepal. Mariyathas Nitharshan scored first for Sri Lanka in 83rd minute.

This is Nepal's second draw in a row. Nepal played a 2-2 draw against Timor-Leste a few days ago.

Nepal, which is in Group A for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, is scheduled to play qualifiers with hosts Kuwait, Indonesia and Jordan from June 8 to 14.

The team is without the players who left the closed camp last month citing constant urge from the head coach Almutairi to leave the camp.
