News 0.14 Percent Of The 2079/80 Budget Allocated To Ministry Of Youth & Sports

The Ministry of Youth and Sports, which received 0.17 percent of the budget last year, has been allocated 0.14 percent this time (2079/80).

In the budget presented by Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma in the Federal Parliament on Sunday, Rs 2 Arba, 46 Crores has been allocated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the fiscal year 2079/80. It is 28 Crores less than the previous year.

"I have allocated Rs 2 Arba, 9 Crores for the National Sports Council (NSC)," said Minister Sharma.

The budget allocated for the Ministry of Youth and Sports has Rs 1 Arba, 56 Crores on the current side and Rs 89 Crores on the capital side. In the previous fiscal year 2078/79, the Ministry of Youth and Sports had received Rs. 2 Arba, 74 Crores. That budget was 38 Crores more than 2077/78.

In the budget, it has been mentioned that a 20-year master plan for sports development will be prepared and implemented, private sector will be encouraged to open sports university and a conducive environment will be created for foreign clubs to organize franchise league in Nepal.

 It is also stated that the role of sports associations will be made effective by enhancing the institutional capacity of sports associations, capacity building programs of players and coaches will be conducted, players will be encouraged, players and coaches participating in national and international competitions will be insured and grants given to sports associations will be increased.
