Gorkha Boys Sports Club, Rupandehi have emerged victorious in the first semifinal of the fifth international Invitational Mayor Bhojpur Gold Cup 2078. They defeated Bhojpur DFA 5-3 on penalties to make it to the final.

The regulation time ended 1-1. Yanick gave Gorkha Boys the lead in the 52nd minute of the match while Bijay Bhujel equalized for Bhojpur in the 78th minute to send the match to penalties.

In the shootout, Nishan Neupane, Sunil Khadka, Fofana, Manoj Shrestha and Yanick scored for Gorkha Boys while Laxman Tamang, Ram Tamang and Prabin Rai scored for Bhojpur. Bhojpur's Reman Udas' shot was saved by the goalkeeper.

Abodey of the winners was named the player of the match and received Rs. 3,500 and a medal.

Amukta Pariwar, India and Rastriya Jagriti Club, Sunsari will face each other tomorrow.

The winners and runners-up in the tournament will receive five lakhs rupees and three lakh rupees respectively.
