News Satdobato Youth Club With A Winning Start In Jhapa Gold Cup!

Satdobato Youth Club has qualified into the quarterfinals of the fifth Jhapa Gold Cup 2078 with a victory over Jawalakhel Youth Club on penalties today. In a match held at Domalal Rajbanshi Stadium in Birtamod today, Satdobato defeated Jawalakhel 4-2 on penalties. The teams had played a 2-2 draw in regulation time earlier.

Martin opened the scoring for Satdobato in the third minute of the match. It didn't take long for Jawalakhel to come back in the match as Onguna Junior levelled the match for them in the 12th minute. Onguna scored another goal in the 34th minute to take the lead in the match. 

It was Satdobato's turn to equalize now. Aashish Rai netted in the 48th minute to take the scoreline to 2-2. No further goals were scored and the match was sent to penalties.

In the shootout, Kuldip Karki and Gaurav Shrestha missed their spot-kicks for Jawalakhel as all four penalties were converted by Satdobato to come out victorious 4-2 in the shootout. Abisekh Baral, Satdobato goalkeeper was adjudged the player of the match.

Satdobato will now face APF Football Club in the quarterfinals. 

The winning squad in the Gold Cup will receive Rs. 12,55,000 in cash, while the runner-up will receive Rs. 6,05,000.

The best player of the competition will be given a motorcycle. Emerging player, best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder and best coach of the tournament will each get Rs 21,000 while the top scorer will be given Rs 25,000 in cash.

Ten teams, including the organizer Jhapa 11 Football Club, as well as teams from Nepal and other nations, will compete at Jhapa Birtamod's Domalal Rajbanshi Stadium. 

The Jhapa Gold Cup is being hosted with the goal of strengthening the Jhapa district as a football hub, as it is the district with the largest football activities outside of Kathmandu.
