Nayabasti Youth Club had entered the semifinals of the fifth Golbazar Mayor Gold Cup 2078 with a defeat on sudden death over the Shreejana Samudayik Bikas Kendra today. The regulation time ended 4-4 and the match was sent to penalties.

Bishal Malla opened the scoring of NYC in the opening minute of the match while Jeewan Magar doubled the lead in the eighth minute of the match. Yomi equalized for SCDC in the first half with a brace in the 12th and 29th minute. Suman Yonga put NYC in front again in the 38th minute again. Jeewan Magar scored his second and his team's fourth in the 53rd minute to extend the lead.

Shaheed then again pulled one back for SCDC in the 59th minute and Yomi equalized in the 77th minute to push the match to penalties and completed his hat-trick. In the shootout, NYC emerged victorious 8-7 to move to the final four. Yomi, who scored a hat-trick was adjudged the man of the match.

NYC will face Birgunj United in the semifinals on February 7.

The final of the tournament will be played on the 9th of February.

The tournament to be organized by Golbazar Municipality, Education and Sports department, Golbazar, Siraha will be held with the slogan, "Sports for health, sports for the nation".
