Birgunj United have booked their place in the semifinals of the fifth Golbazar Mayor Gold Cup with a 5-3 win over Bharatpur FC in today's quarterfinal.
Shishu Chaudhary opened the scoring for Birgunj in the very first minute of the match. Roshan Rana Magar equalized for BFC in the seventh minute. But the day belonged to Kripakanta Chaudhary of Birgunj who scored a hat-trick to send his team to the final four. He scored in the 23rd, 32nd and 65th minute of the match. Bibek Chaudhary scored another for Birgunj in the 48th minute.
Raj Bhusal of BFC scored two goals in the 50th and 69th minute but that was not enough for the side from Chitwan.
Hat-trick hero Kripakanta Chaudhary was named the player of the match. Birgunj will now face the winner of tomorrow's match between Naya Basti Youth Club, Kathmandu and Shree Shreejana Community Development Centre, Choharwa on February 7.
The final of the tournament will be played on the 9th of February.

The tournament to be organized by Golbazar Municipality, Education and Sports department, Golbazar, Siraha will be held with the slogan, "Sports for health, sports for the nation".
