News Aston Villa Fan Club Officially Launched In Nepal

Himalayan Villans, the fan club chapter of Aston Villa Football Club for Nepal and the surrounding regions has been recently officially recognized by the global Aston Villa Lions Club network.

This makes Himalayan Villans the first recognized Aston Villa Lions Club supporters’ group in South Asia. While Himalayan Villans have informally been operating since 2013, it was only officially recognized in August 2021.

The board members of Himalayan Villans comprise of Bidhan Bhattarai (Chairperson), Dhanesh Prajapati (Vice Chairperson), Sujan Maharjan (Secretary) and Biplav Gautam (Advisor).

Himalayan Villans meet regularly both in person and online to watch matches, discuss team news and participate in charity work. Furthermore, with several members who are very active in the Nepali football community, the Himalayan Villans are keen to contribute to the growth of grassroots football and sports fan culture in Nepal.

Aston Villa have previously donated jerseys and equipment to grassroots projects in Nepal and Asmita Ale, a player of Nepali origin, formerly played for its women’s team.
